• gage baret was born on october 31, 1983 to nancy and robert baret. basically his parents abandoned him when he was 15, forcing him to live with his godparents, being his aunt and uncle. he loved them to death and he never wished anything more than to help his aunt whenever she needed it or to just hang out with his uncle, as strange as that seems to most people who hate their families.
• as a child in school gage was excluded from most activities until he started becoming more social and talked to people. he started hanging out with all the kids who got good grades and did everything that would make their parents proud as kids, but would eventually grow up to be drug dealers and cokeheads. for whatever reason, this never seemed to bother him and he found it to be normal, for people to change drastically. after all, he did it too.
• gage had grown up in williamsburg his entire life, making it his home and the place he loathed but loved at the same time. even though at times he has wished to get out of the place he's been trapped in for his whole 24 years of existence, he knows deep in his heart he loves every dirty street corner of this place.
• ever since his first experience with playing the guitar, he instantly fell in love with music. at the age of fifteen, he picked up his first guitar and knew nothing about it. his uncle helped him learn and eventually, when he was older he became the lead guitarist/back up vocalist of moon over manhattan.
• most people who come into contact with him think he's the biggest asshole ever and that he couldn't give a shit about anything, just because a lot of people don't take the time to get to know him enough to realize he's only an asshole to people who piss him off or that he doesn't like. in all reality, he is one of the sweetest guys you could possibly meet and he usually puts his friends before himself.
• as a teenager, he adapted a drug addiction to heroin. he likes to make up excuses for the left over bruises on his arms by blaming it on running into things at night, which anyone close enough to him knows he's just bullshitting. after he went to rehab and got clean, he becomes nervous and apprehensive about hanging out with some of his old druggie friends because he's scared to fall into that lifestyle again.
• even though he knows it's just about as bad for him as doing heroin was, he has a slight pill addiction and will take pills for whatever reason he can come up with to cover the real reason why he does it. he just feels like he needs to have something that can take pain away, even if he's not in pain.
• appearance wise, he hates seeing pictures of himself or being forced to look in the mirror because he hates the way he looks and doesn't seem to think any other way. he's always thought negatively about himself and now it's just become normal to think this way about himself.
• to go along with his hatred of his own face, he finds it difficult to take compliments. again people generally think he's just trying to be an asshole but he's just avoiding being really awkward because he doesn't know how else to take compliments.
• he's only had three serious relationships in his entire life, one of them he still talks to, and the other two girls completely tore him apart. he's apprehensive about dating and relationships now, but if someone proves him wrong about how girls are evil then they just might be able to break that.
• as a whole, he doesn't say he has a religion because he was raised on believing that religion was just a cult to suck people into worshiping something that most people weren't even sure that existed. he stopped believing in god when he was 17 and decided that up till that point, god hasn't done anything for him.
• he's not a drama queen, to be frank he hates drama and stays away from it to the best of his ability. he finds it completely pointless to start rumors and to say shit about someone if it's going to get back to them anyways. whats the point?
• since generally, he'll do anything to be around music at all times he works at a music store close by to his apartment and also generally close to shockfest.
• he's friendly and talks to just about everyone he comes in contact with, but most people just think he's talkative and weird. sure, he's not going to deny he can be really strange but he's not over the top weird. in his head at least.
